I’m Troy Fralich, but you can just call me ‘Tig’, the mighty master smoker at Tig’s Smokin’ Pig BBQ. Back in 2013, I had a burning desire to become a smoking expert. So, as a birthday gift, my wife whisked me away to a smoking class in the cities. Little did I know, this would be the start of my smoky adventures.
Once I returned home, I rushed to Sam’s Club and snagged a Masterbuilt electric smoker. From that moment on, it was a whirlwind of experimentation. I started with pork butts and smoked beans before moving on to bigger challenges like chicken, turkey, and even steaks. Our house turned into a BBQ haven, and people couldn’t get enough.
Word spread like smoke in the wind, and soon enough, I was the go-to guy for smoking at events – birthdays, holidays, you name it. One request led to another until I found myself faced with a monumental task: smoking for a 250-person event. To accommodate the demand, I had to expand my smoking arsenal with a couple more smokers.
But as the requests poured in, I knew I needed to level up my game. That’s when “Woody” entered the picture – my first wood-fired offset smoker. Woody wasn’t just an upgrade; he was a force to be reckoned with. To fund this smokin’ new acquisition, my family and I started doing events at Bayfront during the summer.
Fast forward to today, and my passion for smoking has become a full-blown business. Winter of 2018-2019 marked an important milestone when I ordered the trailer that proudly accompanies us on our smoky escapades.
We serve up an almost entirely smoked menu, paired with our very own delectable sauces. We’ve got three mind-blowing flavors of BBQ sauce, two tantalizing rubs, and we’re stocked in 17 stores across the area.
So, there you have it – the deliciously smokin’ journey that led me to where I am now. Join me as we continue to spread the joy of BBQ and smoking, one mouthwatering bite at a time!
